Cork Bracelets

Let your imagination run wild and design a variety of holiday and every day bracelets.  Makes a great friendship gift.  Easy kids craft!

• 1/8" thick cork
• Markers or paint & paintbrush
• Self stick Velcro dots

1) Measure your wrist (or the wrist of the person who will wear the bracelet) and add on 1". Cut a strip of cork that is 1 1/2" x wrist plus 1".  For example, if your wrist is 6" cut a piece of cork 1 1/2" x 7" (6" + 1")

2) Attach the Velcro dots by placing them on the 1 1/2" ends of the cork as pictured.  To be sure they line up, stick one dot to the cork then attach the other half of the Velcro to the first Velcro dot and bring the other side of the cork around so it overlaps the first one and press the cork into the sticky of the dot.

3) Decorate the cork with markers or acrylic paint.

The variety of bracelets you make is only limited by your imagination.  Draw or paint holly leaves for Christmas; make an Indian design for Thanksgiving; Bunny heads or Easter eggs for Easter; pumpkins for Halloween; or red, white & blue stars for the 4th of July.
