Aquarius Crochet Stitch Pattern

The Aquarius stitch is basically a square with a half circle in the center of each side. This is one of the more complicated motif stitch patterns so you will need some experience to successfully complete this stitch.

Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
rep = repeat
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
st(s) = stitch (es)
tr = treble or triple crochet

Base ring: Ch 8, join with sl st.
Round 1: Ch 1, 16 sc into ring, sl st to first sc
Round 2: Ch 4 (count as 1 tr), 2 tr into first sc, 3 tr into next sc, ch 5 [sk 2 sc, 3 tr into each of next 2 sc, ch 5] 3 times, sl st to top of ch 4.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc into same place as last sl st, *[1hdc, 1dc] into next tr; 2 tr into each of next 2 tr, [1dc, 1hdc] into next tr, 1 sc into next tr, 1 sc into each of next 2 ch, 3 sc into next ch, sc into each of next 2 ch, sc into next tr; rep from * 3 more times skipping 1 sc at end of last rep, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
