Crossed Double Crochet Stitch

crossed double crochet stitch pattern

To work the crossed double crochet stitch, you work a foundation row of single crochet followed by a row of X stitches. The X is formed by skipping a stitch, doing a double crochet then going back and stitching a double crochet into the skipped stitch. It is really quite simple.

Materials: Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

ch = chain
dc = double crochet
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
st = stitch

Multiple of 2 stitches (add 1 for base chain)

Foundation row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. You should have an even number of stitches.
Row 1: Ch 2, Work through both loops now and throughout dc in 1st stitch *sk 1, dc in next sc, dc in skipped stitch; repeat from * to last st, dc in last st
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each dc across
Repeat rows 1 and 2
