Crumpled Griddle Stitch

To achieve the look shown in the above sample of a crumpled griddle stitch, you basically alternate single and double crochet stitches. It is not a difficult pattern to follow and master.

Materials: Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
sc = single crochet
st(s) = stitch(es)

Multiple of 2 sts + 1 (add 2 for base chain)

1st row: Dc in 3rd ch from hook *sc into next ch, dc into next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
2nd row: Ch 2, dc in 1st stitch *sc in next sc, dc in next dc; rep from *
