Floral Lace Crochet Stitch Pattern
Next time you plan a granny square afghan, consider substituting floral lace squares for the traditional granny squares
Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
dc2tog = double crochet 2 together (see below)
rep = repeat
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
sp = space
st(s) = stitch (es)
tr = treble or triple crochet
yo = yarn over
Special Abbreviation: Dc2tog = 1 dc into next dc until 2 loops remain on hook, sk 2 dc, dc into next dc until 3 loops remain on hook, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
Base ring: Ch 10, join with sl st
Round 1: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 31 dc into ring, sl st to top of ch 3.
Round 2: [ch 7, sk 3 dc, sl st into next dc] 7 times, ch 3, 1 tr into same st as last sl st of previous round.
Round 3: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 6 dc into top of tr [7 dc into 4th ch of next 7 ch sp] 7 times, sl st to top of ch 3.
Round 4: Sl st into next dc, ch 6 (count as 1 dc and ch 3) *sk 1 dc, [1tr, ch 5, 1 tr] into next dc, ch 3, sk 1 dc, dc2tog, ch 3, sk 1 dc, sc into next dc, ch 3, sk 1 dc, dc2tog, ch 3; rep from * 3 more times skipping 1 dc2tog and 3 ch at end of last rep, sk 1 dc, dc into next dc sl st to 3rd of 6 ch.
Round 5: Ch 1, sc into same place as last sl st, *3 sc into next ch 3 sp, sc into next tr, 6 sc into ch 5 sp, sc into next tr, 3 sc into next ch 3 sp, sc into top of next dc2tog, 3 sc into next ch 3 sp, sc into next sc, 3 sc into next ch 3 sp, sc into top of next dc2tog; rep from * 3 more times skipping 1 sc at end of last rep, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
