Knitting Supplies:

  • Size 7 (4.5mm) Knitting needles
  • Peaches & Cream 4-ply worsted weight cotton yarn

Approximate finished size 7" square.

Abbreviations:

  • sts = stitches
  • k = knit
  • p = purl
  • rep = repeat
  • kb = knit through back of stitch
  • pb = purl through back of stitch

Always remember that dishcloths cannot be made from acrylic yarns. You need to use cotton yarn.

Cast on 33 sts

Beginning Border: Knit 6 rows

Body:

  • Row 1 (right side): K9, *kb1, [p1, kb1] twice, k5; rep from * to last 4 sts. K4
  • Row 2: K9, *pb1, [k1, pb1] twice, k5; rep from * to last 4 sts. K4
  • Rows 3 - 6: Rep rows 1 & 2 twice
  • Row 7: K4, kb1, [p1, kb1] twice, *k5, kb1, [p1, kb1] twice; rep from * to last 4 sts. K4
  • Row 8: K4, pb1, [k1, pb1] twice, *k5, pb1, [k1, pb1] twice, rep from * to last 4 sts. K4
  • Rows 9 - 12: Rep rows 7 & 8 twice.
  • Repeat rows 1 through 12 twice (for a total of 36 rows)

Ending Border: Knit 5 rows then bind off with a knit row
