Linked Rings Knitting Stitch

Linked Rings is a cable stitch that is knitted in a panel of eight stitches and is not a difficult pattern to master once you have a little experience with cables.

Skill level: Intermediate to advanced; 8 stitch panel

Panel of 8 sts on a background of reverse St st*.
Special Abbreviation:
C4B = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
C4F = Slip next 2s sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
1st row (right side): K8.
2nd row: P8.
3rd row: As 11th and 12th rows.C4B, C4F.
4th row: P8
5th to 10th rows: Rep 1st to 4th rows once more, then 1st and 2nd rows again.
11th row: C4F, C4B.
12th row: P8
13th and 14th rows: As 1st and 2nd rows.
15th and 16th rows: As 11th and 12th rows.
Rep these 16 rows.

*To work a background of reverse stockinette stitch, in straight stitching, purl the first row, knit the second and repeat these two rows.
