Craft Foam Mother's Day Card

how to make a mothers day card from craft foam

Here is a unique twist on a traditional paper Mother's Day card. This card is made of craft foam sticks and craft foam hearts and flowers.

You can even turn it into a magnet so mom can stick it to the refrigerator and enjoy your message year round.

Craft Supplies:

  • 4 Craft foam sticks
  • A piece of card stock
  • Craft foam flowers and hearts
  • Marker or glitter glue
  • Tacky glue
  1. Lay out the four craft sticks on your work surface so that the corners are overlapping and so they form a frame. Glue the corners together.
  2. Cut a piece of card stock slightly smaller than the frame and glue it to the frame. Let it dry and then flip the whole thing over so you can decorate the front side. If you want to eliminate the drying time, you can either use glue dots and double side tape (glue dots for the corners and double sided tape to attach the card stock) or you can use a hot glue gun.
  3. Arrange a variety of craft foam flowers, hearts and shapes in a pleasing design on top of the craft foam sticks. Once you have them laid out how you want them, glue them in place. You can also use self stick craft foam shapes if you like.
  4. On the card stock, use markers or glitter glue to write mom a message such as "Happy Mother's Day" or "I Love You Mom".

Ideas:

  • You can change out the flowers and hearts for some sports or car themed craft foam shapes to make a card for Dad.
  • Attach a piece of strip magnet or a magnetic button to the back if you want to hang it on the refrigerator.
