Puffed Rib Knitting Stitch
The Puffed Rib stitch has nice dimension to it and is not too difficult. It is stitched with a series of knit and purl stitches along with yarn over increases and purl 3 together decreases.
Skill level: Intermediate; 5 Stitch pattern repeat.
Knitting abbreviations:
- yon = yarn over needle (increase)
- yfrn = yarn forward round needle (increase)
- tog = together
Multiple of 3 + 2 on 1st row, but 5 + 2 on subsequent rows.
Note: Stitches should only be counted after the 4th row.
1st row (right side): P2, *yon, k1, yfrn, p2; rep from * to end.
2nd row: K2, *p3, k2; rep from * to end.
3rd row: P2, *k3, p2; rep from * to end.
4th row: K2, *p3tog, k2; rep from * to end.
Rep these 4 rows.
