Shell Ornament
Bring the beach to your Christmas tree with this beach craft. It's an ornament filled with sand and little colored sea shells. Add a raffia bow to top it off. Perfect for gift giving. So simple children can make this and so pretty everyone will want one for their Christmas tree.
Tip: If making these with young children, use unbreakable ball ornaments.
Craft Supplies:
- 2.5" Glass ball ornament
- Mini shells
- Sand
- Raffia
- Funnel
- Remove the top from your ornament.
- Using a funnel, add some sand to your ornament. Not too much. You don't want it to get too heavy. Don't worry, you can always add some more later if you think you need it.
- Add as many mini shells as you like. I used quite a few but it's up to you what you want your sand/shell ratio to be.
- Replace the top of the ornament.
- Cut three or four 15" strands of raffia. Holding the strands as one, tie them in a bow around the neck of your ornament.
Note: Gently shake your ornament to bring the shells to the top of the sand.
