Shitake Motif Crochet Stitch Pattern

Unique eight sided design crocheted in five rounds. The completed motif measures approximately 6.5" across when crocheted using worsted weight yarn and a size H crochet hook.

Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
sp = space
st(s) = stitch (es)
yo = yarn over

Special Abbreviation: Bobble = 5 dc into next st until 1 loop of each remains on hook, yo an draw through all 6 loops on hook.

Round 1: Ch 6, into first of these ch [1 dc, ch 2] 7 times, sl st to 4th of 6 ch.
Round 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 2 dc into same place as last sl st, ch 2, [3 dc into next dc, ch 2] 7 times, sl st to top of ch 3.
Round 3: Ch 3, 1 dc into same place as last sl st, 1 dc into next dc, 2 dc into next dc, ch 2 [2 dc into next dc, 1 dc into next dc, 2 dc into next dc, ch 2] 7 times, sl st to top of ch 3.
Round 4: Ch 5 (count as 1 dc and 2 ch), sk next dc, 1 bobble into next dc, ch 2, sk 1 dc, 1 dc into next dc, ch 2 [1 dc into next dc, ch 2, sk 1 dc, 1 bobble into next dc, ch 2, sk 1 dc, 1 dc into next dc, ch 2] 7 times, sl st to top of ch 5.
Round 5: Ch 3, 1 dc into same place as last sl st, 2 dc into first ch 2 sp, 1 dc into top of next bobble, 2 dc into next ch 2 sp, 2 dc into next dc, ch 2 [2 dc into next dc, 2 dc into next ch 2 sp, 1 dc into top of next bobble, 2 dc into next ch 2 sp, 2 dc into next dc, ch 2] 7 times, sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off.
