Heart and Arrow Valentine

how to make heart and arrow valentine cards

Cupid has shot his arrow and it seems to be in the form of a pencil. That's right, this cupid's arrow is really a pencil.

These Valentine cards are easy for kids to make and give out to their family, friends and classmates.

Change the words to whatever message you want.

Craft Supplies:

  • Red card stock
  • White craft foam letters
  • Red craft foam hearts; one 1" heart and one 1 1/2" heart*
  • White colored pencil
  • Hole punch
  • Decorative edge scissors

*The heart sizes don't have to be exact but one heart should be larger than the other.

  1. Trace and cut out a heart from red card stock using a pair of decorative edge scissors.
  2. Punch two holes in the heart where you want the arrow to go through the heart.
  3. Glue the craft foam letters spelling "Be Mine" on to the heart or if using self stick letters peel the paper back off and stick the letters onto the heart.
  4. Slide the pencil through the two holes as pictured.
  5. Attach the smaller heart to the lower end of the arrow and attach the larger heart to the opposite end of the pencil. If the hearts are self stick, peel the paper off just the part of the heart that will come in contact with the pencil. If the hearts are not self stick, then attach them with a piece of masking tape on the back side of the heart. This way the pencils can be removed from the heart and the little hearts can be taken off allowing the pencil to used.

If you want you can hand write a personal message on the back of the heart before giving it to your Valentine.
