Description

Craft Elf has designed a unique Christmas crochet pattern to make a snowman ornament with curly arms and legs similar to the old fashioned Crochet Clown Doll. This little guy is a whimsical ornament that children and adults will fall in love with. If he gets knocked off the tree by a pet or little hands he won't break which is another great thing about this snowman.

Warning: Our snowman ornament contains small pieces and is not intended for children under 3 years old due to a chocking risk.

If you have little ones that might choke on small pieces, sew the nose on and use black yarn to make french knots instead of gluing on eyes and dots for the mouth.

Assemble your Snowman:

  • The easiest way to join the arms and legs together is to line up the top of the arms and legs altogether and whip stitch the top 1" or so with a yarn needle and matching yarn. Then stitch the whole arm leg assembly to the bottom of the head.  Be sure to put the two legs between the arms.
  • Stitch the hat on top of the snowman's head with black yarn. I just tacked it in four spots.
  • Tie the scarf around the snowman's neck.
  • Glue on two 7mm eyes. Cut a carrot shape from orange felt and glue it under the eyes.
  • Carefully cut open five wiggle eyes and take the dots out from inside the eyes. The outer plastic cuts very easily with just a regular pair of scissors. Glue theses five dots on the snowman's face to form a mouth.
  • Thread a piece of monofilament through the top of the snowman's hat and tie the ends in an overhand knot. This will be the ornament hanger.
