Recycled Easter Craft

Easy kids craft made from recycled egg cartons and pompoms.  Kids will have fun painting the egg carton and glueing together the pompom and face. This is a very inexpensive craft you can easily do with a large group of children.

Materials and Supplies

Craft Supplies:

  • Egg carton
  • 1 ½" yellow pompom
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Two 5mm googly eyes
  • Paint - whatever type you  have on hand - watercolors, acrylic, or tempera paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Scrap of orange felt

Craft Instructions

  1. Cut one individual cup off of an egg carton.
  2. Paint the entire cup. Let dry.  I used acrylic paint on the sample but watercolors are better for young artists.  Watercolors give a different look but it too looks great.
  3. Glue the pompom inside the cup.
  4. Cut a small diamond out of orange felt for the beak.
  5. Glue the beak on the pompom by folding the diamond in half and pushing the center of the beak into the pompom.
  6. Glue on the eyes.
