Sewing Info & Tips

Materials:

  • Fun Fur yarn (eyelash yarn)
  • Size G crochet hook
  • 2 Small hair elastics
  • White glue & 2 clothespins or a hot glue gun
  • Plastic headband

  1. Wrap one small hair elastic around each end of the plastic headband.
  2. Using Fun Fur or other eyelash yarn, start at one end of the headband and single crochet around the headband.  Refer to picture below.
  3. Continue single crocheting around the headband until you completely cover the headband and reach the other end.  Knott and cut off yarn leaving 1 1/2" or so of extra yarn.
  4. Wrap the extra yarn several times tightly around the hair elastic and either hot glue this piece of yarn on the inside of the headband or use white glue and hold in place with a clothespin until glue dries.  Do not put the clothespin directly on the white glue or it will stick as the glue dries.
  5. Repeat step 4 with the other end of the headband to cover up the elastic and secure the yarn end.

Wrap the hair elastic around the ends of the headband.

Crochet around the headband by placing the crochet hook behind the headband and the yarn in front of the headband while completing the single crochet.
