Recycle those wine corks into a modern ornament that is sure to attract attention. This is a fun Christmas ornament to make that doesn't require much skill. To dress it up a bit, you could tie a bow at the top by threading a piece of ribbon through the hanger and tying it in a bow or a knot.

Materials and Supplies

Craft Supplies:

  • Wine corks
  • 3.5" Glass ball ornament
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Cigar cutter or utility knife
  • Optional: Ribbon

Craft Instructions

  1. Using a utility knife or a cigar cutter, cut several wine corks into 1/4" thick pieces.
  2. Starting at the top, glue the pieces of cork to the outside of the glass ball ornament. Start at the top and make a row going completely around the ornament then do the next row below it and continue all the way to the bottom of the ornament.
  3. Optional: Thread a piece of ribbon through the hanger at the top of the ornament and tie it in a bow or in a simple knot. Trim the ends by folding the ribbon ends in half and cutting on an angle, starting higher at the fold and cutting downward towards the open side of the folded ribbon.
  4. Use either a metal ornament hanger or a piece of monofilament to hang your ornament.
