- Clear elastic thread for hanging

1) Trace and cut out 2 hat pieces from red

2) Trace and cut with pinking sheers 2 football
shapes from tan felt.
3) With both pieces lined up evenly, sew around
the football leaving about a 1" or slightly

4) Stuff the football then finish sewing the
remainder of the way.
5) Sew the 2 sides of the hat piece leaving the
bottom open.
6) Right side out the hat.
7) Hot glue the hat in place on top of the

8) With craft or hot glue, glue the strip of
batting around the base of the hat being sure

9) Glue the pompom near the tip of the hat.
10) Glue on the eyes.
11) Thread an 8" piece of clear elastic through

balance just pull out the elastic and try a
different spot.
12) With white fabric paint, draw a line for the
mouth and paint two lines going thru it to
represent the laces of the football.
