Description

The fancy picot crochet stitch is a lacy pattern. If stitched using crochet thread, it would make nice doilies, place mats or a table runner. Stitched in worsted weight or baby weight yarn, it would make a nice sweater for a baby girl.

Materials and Supplies

Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
st(s) = stitch (es)
tch = turning chain

Craft Instructions

Multiple of 10 sts + 1 (add 2 for base chain)

Picot = ch 3, insert hook into last st made and sl st to close

Row 1 (right side): Sk 3 ch (count as 1 dc), *dc into each of next 2 ch, work a picot, [ch 1, sk 1 ch, dc into next ch, picot] twice, ch 1, sk 1 ch, dc into each of next 2 ch **, ch 1 sk 1 ch; rep from * ending last rep at **, dc into last ch, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), sk first st, *dc into each of next 2 sts, [picot, ch 1, sk next ch and picot, dc into next dc] 3 times, dc into next dc**, ch 1, sk 1 ch; rep from * ending last rep at **, dc into top of tch, turn.
