Description

Stitched in green, this shamrock motif would make a great addition to any St. Patrick's day outfit. It measures approximately four inches square when made with worsted weight yarn and a size H crochet hook.

Materials and Supplies

Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
st(s) = stitch (es)

Craft Instructions

Base ring: Ch 2, 8 sc into first ch, sl st to first sc, turn.
1st petal: ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 4 dc into same place as last sl st, turn.
Row 1: ch 3, (count as 1 dc), dc into same dc, dc into each of next 3 dc, 2 dc into top of ch 3, turn.
Round 2: 1 Dc into first dc, 1 hdc into next dc, sl st into each of next 3 dc, dc into next dc, sc into top of ch 3. Fasten off.
2nd petal: sk 1 sc of first row, join yarn in next st, work same as first petal.
Work 2 more petals in same manner.
