Description

You can make your swirl any size you like by just continue the pattern around until it is just how you like it. Use crochet thread and this pattern would make a great doily.

Materials and Supplies

Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
sp = space
st(s) = stitch (es)

Craft Instructions

Note: This motif is worked as a continuous spiral, the size can therefore be increased or decreased as required.

Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc into 2nd ch from hook, sl st to first sc.
Continue in a spiral as follows: Ch 1, sc into same st as last sl st, ch 3, [sc into next sc, ch 3] 5 times, [sc into next sc, sc into next sp, ch 3] 6 times, [sk 1 sc, sc into next sc, 2 sc into next sp, ch 3] 6 times, [sk 1 sc, sc into each of next 2 sc, 2 sc into next sp, ch 4] 6 times [skip 1 sc, sc into each of next 3 sc, 2 sc into next ch 4 sp, ch 4] 6 times, [sk 1 sc, sc into each of next 4 sc, 2 sc into next ch 4 sp, ch 5] 6 times [sk 1 sc, sc into each of next 5 sc, 2 sc into next ch 5 sp, ch 5] 6 times, [sk 1 sc, sc into each of next 6 sc, 2 sc into next ch 5 sp, ch 6] 6 times, [sk 1 sc, sc into each of next 7 sc, 2 sc into next ch 6 sp, ch 6] 6 times, [sk 1 sc, sc into each of next 8 sc, 2 sc into next ch 6 sp, ch 7] 6 times, sk 1 sc, sl st into next sc.
