Description

The wattle crochet stitch is a fun little pattern worked up using single crochet, chain and double crochet stitches. It has a nice tight weave and a very untraditional look to it.

Materials and Supplies

Any weight yarn with the appropriate size crochet hook. Our sample was made using worsted weight yarn and a size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sp = space
st(s) = stitch (es)

Craft Instructions

Multiple of 3 sts + 2 (add 1 for base chain)

1st row: Sk 1 ch, sc in next ch, *work [1 sc, 1 ch, 1dc] into next ch, skip 2 ch; rep from * ending 1 sc into last ch, turn.
2nd row: Ch 1, sc in first st, sk next dc, *work [sc, ch1, dc] into next ch sp, skip 1 sc and 1 dc; rep from * ending with [sc, ch1, dc] into last ch sp, skip next sc, sc into last sc.
Rep 2nd row.
