Description

Recycle those egg cartons!

If you are looking for a Halloween craft for kids to make, try this adorable pumpkin bell made from recycled egg cartons. Not only will it make use of those old egg cartons but the kids will have some fun painting this little pumpkin craft.

Materials and Supplies

Craft Supplies:

  • 2 Cups off of an egg carton
  • Acrylic paint; orange & black
  • Paint brushes
  • Brown pipe cleaner
  • Bell; any size that fits in the egg cups

Craft Instructions

  1. Cut two egg cups off of an egg carton.
  2. Paint the outside of both cups orange. Let dry.
  3. Place the bell inside one of the cups. Turn the other cup upside down and glue it on top of the first one. I used hot glue because it dries quickly but you can use tacky glue if you prefer. Just make sure the glue dries before you continue.
  4. Paint orange over the seam (where you glued the egg cups together.)
  5. Using black paint or a black marker, make a face on one side.
  6. Make a hole in the top of the pumpkin by pushing the tip of a pen through the top.
  7. Cut a 3" piece of brown pipe cleaner and fold it in half. Twist the cut ends together and push them into the hole you made in the top of the pumpkin.
