Description

I love the texture of the Defined Diamonds Cable stitch. It knits up into a nice flat piece that does not curl and could be used in a wide variety of knitting projects.

Materials and Supplies

You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper).

Craft Instructions

Multiple of 8+ 10.

Special Abbreviations:

C4B = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
T4B = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then purl sts from cable needle.
T4F=Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, purl next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.

1st row (right side): P3, C4B, *p4, C4B; rep from * to last 3 sts p3.
2nd row: K3, p4, *k4, p4; rep from * to last 3 sts k3.
3rd row: P1, *T4B, T4F; rep from * to last st p1.
4th row: K1, p2, k4, *p4, k4; rep from * to last 3 sts, p2, k1.
5th row: P1, k2, p4, *C4B, p4; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2, p1.
6th row: As 4th row.
7th row: P1, *T4F, T4B; rep from * to last st, p1.
8th row: As 2nd row.
Rep these 8 rows.
