Description
The Fancy Openwork knitting stitch requires some skill. It works up quickly for an open airy knitted project. A blanket made with this stitch would be great for a cool summer's night as it would give you just enough coverage to take the chill out of the air without getting too hot.
Skill level: Intermediate
4 Stitch pattern repeat.
Materials and Supplies
You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper).
Craft Instructions
Multiple of 4.
Note: Sts should only be counted after the 2nd and 4th rows.
1st row (right side): K2, *yo, k4; rep from * to last 2 sts, yo, k2.
2nd row: P2tog, *(k1, p1) into the yo of the previous row, [p2tog] twice; rep from * to last 3 sts (k1, p1) into the yo, p2tog.
3rd row: K4, *yo, k4; rep from * to end.
4th row: P2, p2tog, *(k1, p1) into the yo of previous row, [p2tog] twice; rep from * to last 5 sts, (k1, p1) into the yo, p2tog, p2.
Rep these 4 rows.
