Description
This cable is a bit more difficult than some other cables as there is a variety of different cable stitches involved. You need to pay careful attention to the pattern and where you are in the pattern. A little patience and you will master this stitch in no time at all.

Materials and Supplies
You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper). You will also need a cable needle for this stitch.

Special Abbreviations:
C4B  = Slip  next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from  left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
                    C4F  = Slip  next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 2 sts from  left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
                    T4B = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts  from left-hand needle, then purl sts from cable needle.
                    T4F=Slip  next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, purl next 2 sts from  left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
                    T3B = Slip next st onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from  left-hand needle, then purl st from cable needle.
                    T3F=Slip  next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, purl next st from  left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
1st row (right side): P1, k8, p1.
                  2nd row: K1, p8, k1.
                  3rd row: P1, C4B, C4F,  p1.
                  4th row: As 2nd  row.
                  5th and 6th rows: As 1st  and 2nd rows.
                  7th row: P1, T4B, T4F,  p1.
                  8th row: K1, p2, k4, p2,  k1.
                  9th row: T3B, p4, T3F.
                  10th row: P2, k6, p2.
                  11th row: K2, p6, k2.
                  12th row: P2, k6, p2.
                  13th row: T3F p4, T3B.
                  14th row: As 8th  row.
                  15th row: P1, C4F, C4B,  p1.
                  16th row: K1, p8, k1.
                  Rep  these 16 rows.
*To work a background of reverse stockinette stitch, in straight stitching, purl the first row, knit the second and repeat these two rows.
