Description

The ridge and furrow stitch is made up of all basic knit and purl stitches. However, you must be careful when stitching this pattern as you constantly change back and forth between those knit and purl stitches. The finished piece has a nice clean look.

Materials and Supplies

You can use any weight yarn along with the appropriate size needles for that particular yarn. A suggestion of needle sizes often is posted on the yarn label (wrapper).

Craft Instructions

Worked over 23 sts.

1st row (right side): *P4, k7, p1, k7, p4; rep from * to end.
2nd row: *K1, p2, k1, p5, [k1, p1] twice, k1, p5, k1, p2, k1; rep from* to end.
3rd row: *P4, k4, [p1, k1] twice, p1, k4, p4; rep from * to end.
4th row: *K1, p2, [k1, p3] 4 times, k1, p2, k1; rep from * to end.
5th row: *P4, k2 [p1, k4] twice, p1, k2, p4; rep from * to end.
6th row: *K1, p2, k1, p1, [k1, p5] twice, k1, p1, k1, p2, k1; rep from * to end.
Rep these 6 rows.
